Types of Weld Nut
 
Hexagonal Welding Nuts: The width across flats is an important dimension. The width across flats of an M3 hexagonal welding nut is approximately 5.5 mm, that of an M6 is approximately 10 mm, and that of an M10 is approximately 16 mm. The height also has various specifications according to different usage requirements. Generally, the height of M3 - M6 is between 5 - 10 mm, and that of M8 - M12 is between 8 - 15 mm.
Square Welding Nuts: The side length varies according to the thread specification. For example, the side length of an M4 square welding nut is approximately 7 mm, and that of an M8 square welding nut is approximately 13 mm. 
Round Welding Nuts: The main dimension is the diameter. The outer diameter of an M5 round welding nut is approximately 10 mm.

Thread Specifications

Coarse Threads: Similar to ordinary nuts, they have specifications such as M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M16, M20, etc. For example, the pitch of an M3 welding nut is 0.5 mm, the pitch of an M6 welding nut is 1 mm, and the pitch of an M10 welding nut is 1.5 mm. 
 

Fine Threads: Such as M8×1, M10×1.25, M12×1.5, etc. (the number in front is the nominal diameter, and the one behind is the pitch). The pitch of fine threads is smaller, and under the same nominal diameter, the thread profile is denser, which is suitable for scenarios with higher requirements for thread connection strength and precision, such as some precision machinery and aerospace equipment.
